There I was, a frustrated former sports-mad athlete, trying to lose the excess 40lbs I'd accumulated, get rid of the constant headaches, the brain fog, the sore joints, and general overall slumber. I was a sad reflection of the guy I once was. I was under-performing in every area of my life.

My problem.... like yours..... was that I’d been conditioned my whole life on high-carb, low-fat eating. That was the rave in the 90s. I got away with it in my early 20s, but not anymore.

It was around this time, without even consciously searching for an answer, that I was travelling to-and-from Brazil continually for 6 months with work. I soon discovered the Brazilian Rodizio restaurant. Such restaurants are where various gorgeous meats cooked on cooked on skewers are continuously brought to your table until you can’t eat any more.
I was eating meat with salad with copious amounts of lovely olive oil, but without the carbs. I soon realised that I didn’t get hungry for literally hours after.

I started adopting a similar approach to all meals.

My energy levels were higher. My headaches were less frequent. The bloating started to subside. I didn’t feel the need to snack in-between meals. And the weight started to drop off effortlessly.

I’d stumbled onto something.
